‘We have our freedom in our hands’: Boris Johnson after UK formally leaves EU
The United Kingdom formally left the European Union's after 48 years as the transition period ended on Thursday night. Brexit, which has dominated politics on both sides of the Channel since 2016, became a reality as Big Ben struck 11:00 pm in London.
