Chief Justice Choudhary sacked

On a day of fast packed developments in Pakistan, President Pervez Musharraf imposed emergency and suspended the constitution. He also sacked Chief Justice Iftekhar Mohammed Chaudhry and appointed justice Abdul Hameed Dogar as the new chief justice of Pakistan. Earlier, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and seven other judges of the Supreme Court were taken into custody after they termed as unconstitutional Musharraf's declaration of a state of emergency.
