IS seizes Syria's ancient Palmyra: What's at stake?

Islamic State militants in Syria have reportedly overrun the famed archaeological site at Palmyra. The city is the latest archaeological site to fall into the hands of the militant group. There are concerns the extremists might destroy some of the priceless ruins as they have done in neighboring Iraq. Syrian authorities say they have moved hundreds of priceless artifacts to Damascus ahead of the IS takeover. But, the fate of those ruins too large too move remains uncertain. With the stakes so high, many are waiting to see how the international community responds.
