Obama calls for enhanced nuclear security safeguards

While addressing the Nuclear Security Summit at Washington on Tuesday US President Barack Obama called for renewed global efforts to safeguard loose nuclear materials. In a speech prepared for a 47-nation nuclear conference, Obama said that the risk of a nuclear attack has gone up as several militant groups including Al-Qaeda are trying to obtain nuclear weapons.
