Six people were killed and six injured in a suspected Taliban suicide attack at a luxury hotel in Kabul on January 14. According to the Afghan and Norwegian officials, Norway's Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere, who was also staying at hotel, was unhurt in the attack. The Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Zemarai Bashary said that most of those who died in the blast were security guards. The hardline Islamist Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
