European Union blacklists 218 targets in largest Russia sanctions package in four years

The European Union's latest sanctions package against Russia is its largest in four years, targeting 218 individuals and entities, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said on Thursday.

In a post on social media platform X, Kallas said the measures hit more than 100 banks and cryptocurrency operators, over 40 vessels from Russia's so-called shadow fleet, as well as several oil refineries.
