  Over 100,000 Palestinians escape southwards from Gaza in two days, says Israel

  Over the past 48 hours, over 100,000 inhabitants of the Gaza Strip have moved southward, according to Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the chief military spokesperson. This mass migration coincides with Israeli forces conducting operations "deep in Gaza City," as revealed in a televised briefing on Friday. Hagari acknowledged ongoing efforts to free hostages within the Gaza Strip but emphasized the time-consuming nature of such endeavours.

  "We are working all the time and with initiative on a range of efforts to return the hostages. These efforts are complex, they are not final. They take time, they are going to take time," he said.

  Gaza to Egypt evacuation operations halted

  Evacuations from the Gaza Strip to Egypt for foreign passport holders and Palestinians in urgent need of medical treatment were temporarily halted on Friday, Reuters reported citing three Egyptian security sources and a Palestinian official.

  Citing challenges in transporting medical evacuees from within Gaza to the Rafah border crossing, a Palestinian official and an Egyptian medical source explained the reason behind the suspension.

  Initiated on November 1, the limited evacuations from Gaza to Egypt have experienced two pauses in the past week, attributed to bombardments that aid staff claim either directly impacted or were intended for medical convoys.
