In a suspected suicide, top NYC cancer doctor, Krystal Cascetta allegedly shot herself and her four-month-old daughter at their residence in Westchester. According to an upstate neighbour, cops and ambulances visited the residence twice before the incident took place.

Bob Stuart, 71, who lives near the 40-year-old doctor's million-dollar home in Somers, said ‘They had ambulances and police come to their house two, maybe three times this summer. At least twice.’

‘I saw the police and ambulances arrive,’ she confirmed.

Krystal's husband, Tim Talty, who owns an energy bar business was away at the time. Neighbours describe him as ‘very nice but also ultra-private' to the point where they had no idea that Krystal had even been pregnant.

Stuart's wife, Betsy, 71, said the couple was ‘very private people, kept to themselves.’

Though it is not clear why the cops and ambulances were repeatedly called to the property, this new development gives a whole new turn to the tragedy.

A tragedic incident

Krystal's parents were home when she entered her baby's room around 7.a.m. Saturday and shot her child. Then she turned the gun and shot herself, killing both of them, said the police.

According to the police report, someone from the house called 911. The person heard the first gunshot but thought something had fallen. They heard the second gunshot before they could reach the room to see what was happening and found the door locked.

Upon breaking down the door the baby and doctor were found dead on the floor.

“We know, 100%, without a doubt, that it was a murder-suicide,” the officer said.

While the investigation continues, it remains unknown as to what led to the tragedy, since the couple's social media depicted an idyllic life.

'I will sorely miss her'

Krystal was a haematology-oncology specialist at the Mount Sinai Hospital and her sudden death has left many in sorrow.

Many of her friends, patients and colleagues took to social media to express their dismay.

“Dr. Krystal Cascetta you were true to your profession. You were caring and very compassionate to your patients. I will miss our talks. May you and your child RIP!!!!” said one.

“I don’t know what was happening in her life that she felt this was the best end to her story, but I know a large community of survivors, patients and colleagues are brokenhearted. I will sorely miss her. She deeply cared for her patients and I am grateful that I was one,” added another.
