Wisconsin Tornado Watch
The National Weather Service has announced that Tornado Watch 129 will be allowed to expire at 8 p.m. CDT this evening as severe weather conditions ease across parts of Wisconsin.
The expiration affects 14 counties across central, east-central, north-central, and northeast Wisconsin.
In central Wisconsin, the watch is being lifted for Marathon County, Portage County, Waushara County, and Wood County.
In east-central Wisconsin, the expiration includes Calumet County and Winnebago County. North-central counties affected are Langlade County and Lincoln County.
In northeast Wisconsin, the watch is being lifted for Brown County, Menominee County, Oconto County, Outagamie County, Shawano County, and Waupaca County.
Cities included in the expiring watch area range from Green Bay and Appleton to Wausau, Oshkosh, Stevens Point, and Wisconsin Rapids, among many others.
While the expiration indicates a reduced immediate tornado threat, officials continue to urge residents to remain cautious and monitor local weather updates as conditions can still change.

Wisconsin state of emergency
Severe weather has impacted parts of Wisconsin since the beginning of the week, with multiple rounds of storms bringing heavy rain, large hail, strong winds, and widespread power outages.
In northeastern areas, storms late Monday and Tuesday caused significant damage, including uprooted trees and downed infrastructure, while persistent rainfall led to dangerous flooding across several communities.
The flooding has resulted in washed-out roads, stranded and submerged vehicles, water rescues, and concerns about the stability of some dams. Several roads and schools have also been forced to close due to hazardous conditions.
In response to the widespread impacts, Gov. Tony Evers declared a state of emergency on Wednesday as severe weather continued to affect communities across the state.
"After severe storms that swept across the state and more still to come, it is critical that we ensure our communities have access to every available resource to help local folks and families in need and secure essential infrastructure," said Evers in a news release. “We are grateful to all of the neighbors, emergency and first responders, local partners and volunteers who are already working to support each other, respond to damages, restore essential services and ensure that homes, buildings and other important structures are as secure as we prepare for more severe weather to come. I encourage Wisconsinites to be sure to stay alert, look out for your neighbors and take good care of each other as these storms continue moving across our state."
