At least 10 bodies have been retrieved and one person is still missing nearly two weeks after a boat capsized in central China's Hunan province, according to officials.

The sand-carrying boat had capsized on February 2 in high winds in a tributary of Dongting Lake, China's second-largest freshwater lake, in the province, Xinhua reported on Monday.

There were 17 people, mostly boatmen and their family members, on board.
Only six people could be rescued from the accident. The one missing person stands little chance of survival, said municipal officials.
The 1,500-tonne boat belonged to Hubei province.
