14 people died in Vietnam bridge collapse

At least 14 people die following the collapse of a bridge under construction in Vietnam's southern province of Can Tho.

At least 14 people died on Wednesday morning following the collapse of a bridge under construction in Vietnam's southern province of Can Tho, police said.

"We have already found 14 dead bodies, while many other people are still stuck under the collapsed bridge," Vu Duc Hung, head of Can Tho's waterway traffic police, told AFP.

About 250 workers and engineers were working on the bridge when the accident happened, said Le Tan Hoc, director of the provincial department for Public Works.
