15 killed in Venezuela bus accident

At least 15 people were killed and 30 injured in an accident involving three vehicles early today in southwest Venezuela, police said.

The accident happened at 4.00am around a dangerous curve in Trujillo state when one of the freight vehicles' tyres burst, and hit one of the buses nearby, Xinhua quoted an official as telling Venezuelan television.

According to police, the accident surprised the other bus, which was travelling from Chichiriviche in Falcon state to Merida, and caused the tragedy.

The deceased included four children aged under five.

The two buses belonged to private transport companies.
