During the four-day "Rey Momo" (Momo King) celebrations which ended on Tuesday, 23 people were killed in traffic accidents and violent incidents.

Among the 438 injured, most were wounded by guns, knives, glass bottles and other objects used by troublemakers, said Eynar Cruz, director of the Emergencies Center of the Santo Tomas Hospital (HST).

Balbina Herrera, a presidential candidate from the ruling party, was also injured after a drunken man threw a beer can at him.
