A strong magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck off the Solomon Islands today, the US Geological Survey said.
The quake struck 75 km northwest of the capital Honiara, at a depth of 115 km.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties and no tsunami warning was issued.
