A powerful earthquake struck waters off Indonesia on Tuesday.
The country's meteorology and geophysics agency said Tuesday's quake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.5.
It hit 340 miles (547 kilometers) southwest of Bintuhan, a town on Sumatra island, just 6 miles (10 kilometers) under the ocean floor.
