Afghan security forces clashed with a group of suspected Taliban militants holed up in a house close to Kabul's old city on Wednesday, witnesses said.

The clash erupted after Afghan forces on Tuesday night surrounded a house where the suspected militants were hiding in Gozargah, a hilly area of Kabul, they said.

A key road linking the area with the centre of capital has been blocked off by Afghan security forces.
