It was only a matter of time before Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi’s giant killer Arvind Kejriwal began hitting global lists of influential people. He got his first on Monday.
Foreign Policy, an influential print and online magazine, named Kejriwal to its list of top global thinkers of 2103 for “leading an influential campaign to rid New Delhi of corruption”.
The profile for the listing missed his and his party’s historic victory in the Delhi elections on Sunday, closing with a quote, “The broom will become our weapons.”
It did, indeed, giving his party 28 seats.
Others on the list are Pope Francis, US secretary of state John Kerry, German chancellor Angela Merkel, Russian president Vladimir Putin and Iranian president Hassan Rouhani.
And Indians such as Anand Grover, whose petition led to the landmark Supreme Court judgment denying denying Swiss drug company Novartis patent on its anti-cancer drug Glivec.
There are a few other Indians on the list, which can accessed on their website.
