The Federal Criminal Investigations Bureau says the victims were locked up in two trucks and had been behind fruit and vegetable crates for 24 hours when police stopped them on the A2 highway in the eastern province of Styria.
Police say the men, woman and children were allegedly charged up to euro10,000 ($13,700) per person by the suspected traffickers, who were between 30 and 50 years old.
Authorities did not immediately release more details on the suspects.
