According to the police, the firecracker like object burst near the western part of the CA building located at New Baneshwar at 4:55 pm.

Some pamphlets of an unheard organization called Democratic Youth Forum - Nepal were found scattered at the spot.

“There was a minor explosion accompanied by noise and since no one was near the spot, no injuries have been reported,” said Ramesh Kharel, SP Kathmandu.

The pamphlets had slogans demanding consensus among all political parties, resignation of the present government and setting up of a national unity government.

Nepal is going through a political impasse due to differences between the ruling coalition and the opposition Maoists over extending tenure of the CA and drafting of the new constitution—the deadline for both expires on May 28.
