Canada to apologise for Kanishka

Describing the Kanishka bombing in which terrorists destroyed an Air India flight killing 329 persons, as the “worst act of Canadian terrorism in our history”, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Thursday indicated that his Government could tender an official apology to the families of the victims of that tragedy.

Describing the Kanishka bombing in which terrorists destroyed an Air India flight killing 329 persons, as the “worst act of Canadian terrorism in our history”, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Thursday indicated that his Government could tender an official apology to the families of the victims of that tragedy.

He also said that the government will pay the compensation.

His reaction came after an official Commission of Enquiry in Canada blamed the government for the tragedy.
