Ashwin Raghvan and Ankit Jain are here to participate in MITACS Globalink-India Program, a pioneering project that links outstanding international students with researchers.

Raghvan and Jain, who are working separately in two different short-term research projects at the University of Toronto, made their presentation at a workshop entitled "Advancing Excellence in Strategic Engagement with India," in Ottawa yesterday.

The two were cheered by more than 100 top Canadian universities executives who shared their research experiences with them.

After meeting university executives, they said: "The most exciting thing about the programme is to meet top researchers and students who want to change things globally. The program offers many great opportunities."

The workshop was organised by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

The two-day session in Ottawa drew over 100 participants from over 30 Canadian universities and included leading experts from India and the private sector.
