Diamond trader killed in Belgium

An Indian diamond trader has been stabbed to death in his apartment in the Belgian city of Antwerp, where hundreds of diamond traders from Gujarat and other places are closely involved in the multi-billion pounds diamond industry.

The public prosecutors’ office is investigating the matter, reports from Antwerp said.

The trader has not been named so far. The trader, aged 54, lived in Van Eycklei in the vicinity of Antwerp City Park.

Theft was reported to be the motive. His son was also injured during the incident, reports said.
