Another blogger, Saarysh, who claims to be a family friend describes Bilawal as a "tortured soul" who is still finding himself. But soon after she withdraws her blog.

While Pakistan's mainstream media generally ignored the controversy, the social media seems to have had a tweeting-fest. Tazeen Javed, a leading member of the local community, brands it a fake. Others agree, many don't. One says that there is no smoke without fire. Another questions the moral values of both concerned.

The editor of a national daily says that while the government is not putting any pressure on the media and the boycott is voluntary. "There are also legal issues," says Salim Bokhari, the editor of the Nation newspaper.

In the past, President Zardari sued the Jang Group, Pakistan's largest newspaper group, after it published a story on an alleged marriage between him and a US-based doctor.
