The health department of al-Qalyubiyah governorate has confirmed that typhoid were diagnosed in six patients at al-Baradi'ah village and two others at al-Kharqaniyah.

However, the residents said the number of typhoid cases reached more than 25 in recent hours and 43 other suspected persons have been placed under observation in various hospitals.

The residents were reportedly indignant because of the poor resources in the first aid facilities and the non-serious handling of the new patients.

Meanwhile, the Environment Health Department continued to take samples of the water for testing in order to determine its fitness as potable water.

Local council in al-Qalyubiyah will form a fact-finding committee on the typhoid cases in al-Kharqaniyah so as to find the reason for the spread of the disease.
