The attack took place at around 7:30 am (0430 GMT), the sources said, a day after two car bombs went off within minutes of each other in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, killing 12 and injuring dozens.

Both incidents followed a pullback of US troops from Iraqi cities on June 30, putting security on the nation’s streets back into the hands of Iraqi security forces.
