Five killed in road accident in China

Five people were killed and 14 others injured in a road accident in China's northwestern Xinjiang Uygur region, officials said.

Five people were killed and 14 others injured on Wednesday in a road accident in China's northwestern Xinjiang Uygur region, officials said.

The accident occurred at 1.05 p.m. when a bus hit a truck before veering off the road, a spokesman of the local administration said.

Three people died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries in a hospital. The injured are being treated in the hospital, the official said.

It was not immediately known how many people were on board the bus at the time of the accident.
