Government officials in Greece say efforts to improve relations with Turkey have stalled because of a dispute over airspace boundaries between the two neighbors. Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis described Greek-Turkish ties as "static," following a security meeting Monday, chaired by Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis.

Greece made a formal complaint to Ankara last week, accusing Turkey for flying its jets over a populated Greek island and harassing a search-and-rescue mission in the Aegean Sea. Turkey did not comment on the allegations.
The two NATO members are at odds over airspace boundaries in the eastern Aegean Sea.
