Meeting in Riyadh, the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrein and Qatar agreed that they would offer the sum at the meeting on Sunday in Sharm el-Sheik to address the reconstruction of Gaza, which was devastated by Israel's three-week siege in December and January, SPA said.

The GCC also said it would establish a programme for rebuilding that would allow other Arab countries to take part, coordinated together with the Islamic Development Bank and "legitimate Palestinian institutions".
