British astronaut Tim Peake accidentally called up an unsuspecting woman from space asking, “Hello, is this planet Earth?” and also tweeted an apology for the mistake.
Peake, who will spend six months on the International Space Station (ISS), took to Twitter to apologise shortly after the gaffe on Friday. The father of two sons insisted it was not a prank call but ‘just a wrong number’.
Earlier this week, Peake tried calling his parents from space, but only got through to their answering machine. He cheerfully greeted his parents in the message, “This is just your son calling from the International Space Station... I’m sorry you’re not in.”

{{/usCountry}}The astronaut, who has been employed by the European Space Agency, also tweeted a few pictures on Monday which show him helping two fellow crew members to conduct a space walk outside the ISS.
Peake is a former major in the army and the first Briton to join the ISS crew.
