Honduras to lift curfew 2 weeks after coup

Honduran authorities say they will lift a curfew that has been in place since a coup that ousted President Manuel Zelaya two weeks ago.

Honduran authorities say they will lift a curfew that has been in place since a coup that ousted President Manuel Zelaya two weeks ago.

In a statement read on radio and TV, the interim government says the curfew has helped "restore calm." It ends on Sunday.

The administration of Roberto Micheletti imposed the curfew after soldiers grabbed Zelaya at gunpoint and flew him out of the country on June 28, plunging the country into political crisis.
