The works of veteran Indian artists late Tyeb Mehta and MF Husain is set to go under hammer in Dubai on October 27.
The sale by leading auction houses Christie's will have Tyeb Mehta's 1979 painted "Yellow Heads", which is oil on canvas and is estimated to fetch $ 500,000 - 700,000.
While MF Husain's acrylic on canvas, which was painted in 2005, is likely to yield $ 350,000 - 500,000, a statement released today said.
The auction will also offer pictures and sculptures from the Middle East region including Lebanese, Syrian, Egyptian and Saudi Arabian art, it said.
These works will be complimented by Indian, Pakistani and Iranian and Turkish art, it added.
The auction will present 167 paintings and sculptures. It is expected to fetch USD 8 million to $ 11 million with individual estimates ranging from $ 10,000 to USD 800,000.
A large diptych titled "Remembrance and Gratitude" by the Egyptian artist Ahmed Moustafa, is estimated between $ 600,000 to $ 800,000.
