For the first time, half a dozen security officers from different Asian countries including India, China and Pakistan are jointly taking part in military manoeuvres in Nepal.
The officers drawn from army, armed police and national investigative agencies are taking part in the 17th
Command and Staff Course being run by Nepalese Army.
Chief of the General Staff NA Toran Jung Bahadur Singh inaugurated the 11 month long course at the Army Command and Staff College, Shivapuri, at a function, according to the Army Headquarters.
Twenty eight Nepalese Army officers, one from Armed Police Force, one from the National Investigation Department,
two from China, one each from Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka are participating in the training programme.
Besides, sharing the experience and knowledge of Nepal Army, students can build strong network of friendship,
thereby adding more charm to the course, pointed out Singh during the function.
"This is a milestone and a new chapter in the glorious history of this college," he added.
The Army College has produced 557 graduate officers, including 539 from Nepal Army, three from Nepal Police, 10
from APF, five from NID.
Altogether 103 officers have received Master's Degree in strategic studies in the last four years from Tribhuvan
