Jakhrani meets Zardari to discuss cricket matters

Pakistan federal sports minister Ejaz Hussain Jakhrani on Tuesday called on President Asif Zardari to discuss cricket matters especially in the wake of the national team's dismal performance in Australia.

Pakistan federal sports minister Ejaz Hussain Jakhrani on Tuesday called on President Asif Zardari to discuss cricket matters especially in the wake of the national team's dismal performance in Australia.

"I was given time by the President today and we had a detailed discussion on the cricket affairs including the present state of affairs arising out of the recent performances of team," Jakhrani said.

"We also discussed the amended constitution of the board which is being vetted by the law ministry," Jakhrani said.

Without going into details, the minister said he had held detailed discussions on cricket issues without targeting any specific personality.

"The President has assured me he is looking into the cricket issues and would himself take decisions on them soon," Jakhrani said.

The minister met with President Zardari who is also chief patron of the board shortly after he had also met with former Test captain Javed Miandad is the director general of cricket in the Pakistan cricket Board.
