In the midst of dealing with the BP Deepwater Horizon crisis in his state, Jindal sent that donation from his Campaign Committee to Haley’s coffers. Haley is trying to become the first-ever Indian-American woman Governor of an American State and just the second Indian-American Governor after Jindal, who was elected in 2007.

These details were available from the mandatory quarterly campaign contribution filing by Haley’s campaign to the South Carolina State Ethics Commission. During the last quarter, between April and June 2010, Haley raised nearly $543,000, and approximately $1.4 million for the campaign cycle so far.
