A day after the the UCPN-Maoists enforced a general strike across the country, a teachers organization affiliated to the Maoist organisation have shut down all educational institutions in the Nepalese capital on Monday.
The All Nepal Teachers Organisation (ANTO) has forcibly shut all schools in the country in line with the Maoists' policy to mobilise its sister organizations for the third phase of agitation against the President's move to reinstate the army chief.
UCPN (Maoist), agitating against a move in May 2009 by the Nepali President, who had overruled the erstwhile Maoist-led government's decision to fire the then army chief, had instructed its sister organizations to launch their own sector-wise programmes in support of the agitation.
Some six million students studying in about 10,000 community and institutional schools across the country have been affected due to the strike on Monday.
