Nepal’s EC has fixed new dates for filing nominations for the April Constituent Assembly election in line with the 8-point agreement signed between the Koirala Govt and the Madhesi parties.

Nepal’s Election Commission has fixed new dates for filing nominations for the April 10 Constituent Assembly (CA) election in line with the eight-point agreement signed between the Koirala government and the Madhesi parties.

The EC decided to extend the deadline to register candidates for the 335 seats under the proportional representation system till March 2 will enable the Madhesi parties to take part in the crucial CA election.

The deadline for filing nominations for 240 seats under the fast-past-the-post system has been extended till March 6, Bhoj Raj Pokhrel, the Chief Election Commissioner, said on Friday.
