Nearly two-dozen foreign diplomats in Nepal on Thursday expressed their eagerness to extend support to the Election Commission to hold a successful constituent assembly election.
The envoys promised to offer “all possible help” and emphasised on the political and need of holding the CA election on November 22 in Nepal, officials at the Election Commission, said.
The officials met the foreign envoys to let the international committee know about the progress of the elections, which would draft the political future of Nepal.
While Indian Ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shankar Mukherjee could not attend the meeting, he was represented by Aloke Sinha, the Deputy Chief of Mission.
During the discussion, the Election Commission officials claimed, most of the foreign ambassadors and UN agencies' officials expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Nepal’s Terai region.
