Nepal Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the on going peace process in the country will be completed in three to six months.
The Prime Minister who met United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) chief Karin Landgren on Tuesday told her that the peace process will take maximum six months, by then the UNMIN's mandate will also terminate, PM's adviser Rajan Bhattarai said on Wednesday.
The government has decided to extend the mandate of UNMIN, which expires on July 23, for another six months. The Prime Minister has also assured the UN representative that the government will soon reconstitute the Special Committee to rehabilitate the Maoist combatants with a view to expedite the integration of the Nepal army.
The eight-member Army Integration Special Committee headed by the then Prime Minister Prachanda needs to be reconstituted after the dissolution of Prachanda's Maoist-led government.
The Committee will soon be reconstituted in order to move ahead with the process of army integration and rehabilitation, Bhattarai told PTI.
During the meeting, the UNMIN chief expressed concern over the slow pace of the army integration and rehabilitation process in the country.
