Reports quoting the Prime Minister’s foreign affairs advisor Rajan Bhattarai stated that the Himalayan nation would seek Chinese help in developing infrastructure, hydropower, tourism and agriculture.
Although details of projects for which assistance would be sought are yet to be worked out, reports say that Chinese investment in construction of roads, an international airport and hydro-power project are expected.
A 15-member team of ministers and officials including Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala and Finance Minister Surendra Pandey and a separate 14-member delegation of businessmen would accompany Nepal.
On Tuesday, the Prime Minister has several discussions with ministers and secretaries of various departments to prepare the broad framework of deliberations during the China visit.
He also had meetings with office-bearers of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Nepal Chamber of Commerce to finalise the areas of cooperation between businessmen of both nations.
