Failure of political parties to end the deadlock has led to important tasks, such as completion of the peace process and drafting a new constitution, getting sidelined. Prolonged instability over formation of the government has also raised concern in India over security and economic issues.

“Security has been affected due to the failure to form a government in past two months,” Home Minister Bhim Rawal said.
India media ventures in trouble
The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has expressed concern at allegations made by certain media houses against products manufactured by Indian joint venture (JV) companies in Nepal. In recent weeks, some print and television houses have been carrying reports questioning the quality of products manufactured Indian JVs.
Such allegations in the past have been found to be false after investigation by Nepal government agencies, said the Indian Embassy on Friday.
