"Abhigyan hugged me tight. The hug I was missing for the last three months," said Anurup Bhattacharya of his three-year-old son.

The couple has a year old daughter, too, Aishwarya.

The children, who live in a foster home in the town of Stavanger, were taken under protective care in May 2011 on the grounds of "emotional disconnect" with the parents.

The couple's lawyer said he expected the social services to decide by March if the children could be placed in the custody of their uncle, who flew in from India.
