US President Barack Obama on Thursday opened an unprecedented UN Security Council summit to rally world support for nuclear non-proliferation and advance nuclear disarmament.
Obama called the meeting to order, as the first American president to chair the Security Council, since the United States holds the rotating presidency of the 15-member body this month.
