The Oslo Pistolklubb's website said that it was able to "confirm that Anders Behring Breivik was a member between 2005 and 2007, and again since June 2010."

It said the 32-year-old far-right extremist, who acknowledges a shooting rampage and bombing attack that together killed 76 people last Friday, "took part in 13 organised training sessions and one competition since June 2010."

The club said that he "did not stand out" with neither "political positions nor any other feature" that would set off any warning signals.

All training sessions have been cancelled until further notice at the club, which numbers some 400 mainly amateur members.
