Sindh Inspector General of Police Fayyaz Laghari said most of the killings are due to sectarian strife.

Hundreds are gunned down every year in Karachi in violence between Shia and Sunni Muslims, Xinhua reported.

Besides sectarian attacks, about a dozen people were killed in political violence over the past week. The administration has deployed more policemen.
