A passenger aircraft with 116 people, including 11 children, on board had to make an emergency landing in Russia's Ural mountain region, after one of its engines failed.

The Tu-204 plane, which took off from Moscow's Vnukovo airport at 5.15 pm local time on Sunday was on its way to Blagoveshchensk in the country's far east, and had to land in Yekaterinburg city a few hours after take-off.

There was, however, no report of any casualty.
