A nephew of fiery Taliban leader Maulana Fazlullah was arrested in the restive Swat valley in Pakistan's northwest, police said on Friday.
Qari Dost Muhammad, 23, was arrested with three other suspected militants during a raid on a house in Pir Sabaq area of Nowshera district in the North West Frontier Province, police said. Muhammad was living in the house with his aunt, sister and other relatives.
Fazlullah, who is known as "Mullah Radio" for the fierce sermons he once delivered on his illegal FM channel, fled to Afghanistan after security forces captured his stronghold of Imamdheri in Swat district last year.
Muhammad studied at various seminaries in Nowshera and Swabi districts for the past 10 years and then served as the imam in several mosques.
His aunt Razai Maa, who brought up Muhammad after his mother died when he was young, said that the security forces raided the house at midnight and seized all books and documents from their home.
She said the family moved to Nowshera after security forces launched operations against Taliban in Swat district. She claimed Muhammad had "no connection whatsoever with militants".
Muhammad was married two years ago and has a one-year-old son. His father has been missing since the unrest began in the Swat valley, she said.
