Nepali Congress on Saturday named its parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Poudel, 65, as candidate for election to the prime minister’s post to be held on July 21.

The NC central working committee unanimously approved Poudel’s name after it was forwarded by Sher Bahadur Deuba and KB Gurung, the two other contenders for the post.
