An earthquake of 5.3 magnitude shook a southwestern Iranian province early on Tuesday but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

An earthquake of 5.3 magnitude shook a southwestern Iranian province early on Tuesday but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties, the official news agency IRNA said.

The quake struck about 7:30 a.m. (0400 GMT) near the town of Farrashband in Fars province, where several large gas fields are located.
