The Hindujas are set to move into the neighbourhood of Queen Elizabeth II, giving Britain’s monarch her first Indian neighbours and the billionaire NRI family a place at the top table of British society.

When the Hindujas move in next month, they won’t have far to go — their new home is across the street from where they currently live. But the new home is a substantial property that will directly overlook St James Park outside Buckingham Palace.
And if you crane your neck a bit to the right from the Hindujas’ windows, you will see Buckingham Palace.
The fabulous new family home of Srichand, Gopichand, Ashok and Prakash Hinduja is the largest residential Grade 1-listed home in London, said a source close to the family. Situated on Carlton Terrace, the six-storey building is among the poshest addresses in London and is a stone’s throw from St James Palace — another royal residence.
The new Hinduja home is a palace in its own right — set over 70,000 sq feet, it has 50 rooms, a swimming pool and a private cinema.

{{/usCountry}}The family, once the richest in Britain after the Queen’s and are now ranked 9th, spent five years and upward of £100 million restoring the building.
Each of the brothers — whose total fortune from the Hinduja Group’s industrial, financial and trading empire is estimated to be worth around £6 billion — has an entire floor of the building.
There is enough space to accommodate all 30 members of the extended family.
And more. They’re keeping the older flats across the road: “You have to think of the grandchildren,” the source said.
The Queen would surely appreciate that sentiment.
