US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived in Baghdad on a surprise visit on Thursday to discuss the future of US forces in Iraq, an AFP correspondent travelling with her said.

Rice is expected to meet Iraqi leaders including Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki as well as senior US officials to discuss the status of the military agreement between Washington and Baghdad.
